WELCOME to Ocean Grove Golf Club
CELEBRATION OF 20th ANNIVERSARY OF CLUBHOUSE
The President and Committee would like to extend an invitation to our life members, past Committee office bearers and members to join in and celebrate the 20th year of the Clubhouse on Thursday 6th November for happy hour and nibbles from 6pm onwards. It will be a great chance to catch up with your buddies of the past and see the changes in and around the Golf Club. We would like to see as many as possible to enjoy and see the hard work of many members over the past 20 years.
If you would like to stay on for dinner, please be sure to make a booking to avoid any disappointment.
About Our Club
Our picturesque golf course is located on the eastern bank of the Barwon River in the rapidly growing coastal town and holiday resort of Ocean Grove. The course sits across the river from the ‘Sea Change’ township of Barwon Heads – and is bounded on the north by the Connewarre State Game Reserve with its abundance of native flora and fauna – in particular a wide variety of bird species. The reserve includes mangroves that are amongst the most southerly in Australia.
Ocean Grove is on the Bellarine Peninsula – 25 minutes from Geelong and 90 minutes from the Melbourne CBD via the Geelong Freeway and the Bellarine Highway. The course is situated very close to motels, camping and caravan accommodation – right next to boat access, fishing and a short walk from the 10km long surf beach stretching from Point Lonsdale to ‘The Bluff’ at Barwon Heads.
The short but challenging Course boasts challenging greens and a number of water carries that will challenge any golfer. In it’s normal configuration, the course features 18 tees and 12 greens – including 2 double greens. Over summer – in keeping with its holiday location – the course is configured as a 12-hole layout to give better public access for ‘Green Fee’ players.
The Club is water self sufficient through the capture of storm water stored in two dams. This ensures all year round playability even in severe drought and provides green fairways and tees as well as high quality greens.
The Course caters for all golfing levels from juniors and beginners, up to the low marker. It is open all year round for green fee players and members and offers outstanding value for money.
There is always the opportunity to relax and socialise in our licensed Clubhouse after your game, or to pop back for an evening meal in our popular bistro overlooking the famous Barwon Heads Bridge.
Memberships are available and competitions are held for men, ladies and veterans each week.
The Club has reciprocal rights at Corowa, Camperdown & Howlong (NSW) Golf Clubs.
The Ocean Grove Golf Club is run by volunteers overseen by a Committee of Management who have all worked together to to build a fantastic club in its relatively short life.
The bar staff team are all volunteers and are RSA trained.
The Golf Shop team are all volunteers.
The course is maintained by our professional green keepers Paul & Chris and a team of volunteers who form the 'Greens Committee'.
